Mr. Creativity ! Robert Knox @ Djamee Models

After  requesting from Djamee Raphael, to shoot with Robert Knox and then setting a shoot date  with Robert, I really didn't know what to expect from him.  What does one expect from a male model

that walked the runway for Givenchy, more than two ads for United Colors of Benetton and gracing the pages of numerous fashion magazines.  Huge ego, diva, or just plain creep to work with ?  None of these words describe Robert Knox, he is a soft spoken young man that appeared to be shy at first meet.  Shy he maybe, but he makes up for that .....,  in his willingness to give 100 percent of himself to a shoot.  What ever ideas you may come up with for a shoot, Robert is willing to give it a try as well as adding his own ideas to the shoot. Oh did I mention tireless and non complaining...., It was cold the day of the shoot but,  Robert was a true pro ....., willing to stretch his creativity to it's limits !  To Robert Knox,  the pleasure was all mine.  Thank you my brother......

It's all about team work !!!

Doctor, actor, athlete or working class man or woman, you're only as good as the team you work with. And this holds true for a photographer.

As a photographer you should have a strong network of makeup artists, hairstylists, wardrobe stylists and of course the model.  It's your team, along with your concept for the shoot that brings it all to life.
Even if it's just you and a model that's still team work. And that was what my journey in 2010 was all about, finding and working with the right team.  It was on the site Model Mayhem that I reached out to stylist RJ Frazer.  After a few messages and phone calls ; we had set a date for a test shoot.

It was RJ who found the model Vincent Lane.  Vincent as a model, is very easy going and willing give a 100% of himself.  I must say this was a shoot that I really enjoyed.  It was through this shoot that I learned that everyone part taking in the shoot; excuse the pun.... must be on the same page and that is the formula for a successful shoot.

Jason Webley....The quiet storm!

As time goes by and you get older, if you're like me you come to the realization that you don't know everything. For me that
lesson came in the form of male model named Jason Webley. I first met Jason while shooting a fashion show that the Newark City Art Council had produced. Jason was one of the models in the show and needless to say I caught a few shots of him. After the show I discovered that Jason was with the Felton Group, which is own by my good friend Drew Felton. Drew knew that I was searching for models to test with and he suggested that I work with Jason. I'm sorry to say that I just didn't see what Drew and everyone else saw in Jason. I guess he didn't fit the image of male models that I knew of. But with a little coaxing and a few delays, me and Jason finally did our first test shoot together. There's only one word for our first and second test shoot....Wow!

In the begining... there was Bianca!!!

If I had to have a muse Bianca Williams would be my muse. She was the first model i tested with

when I started shooting. What can I say about this young lady, everything!!! She has a quiet grace and elegance that surpass her age. I met Bianca thru her uncle my good friend Douglas Says, who styled the shoot and design most of the clothes she wore. The energy she gives and how easy she takes directions makes shooting her just plain fun!!! If all the models I work with where like her

I be a happy man. She has set the standards that I look for in a model, someone who is on time, has plenty of energy and willing to work. Bianca has set the bar real high....
